Why change your name? Printbridge is the new trading name of Print by Design Ltd. We have felt like a name change for years and are pleased and excited to make this bold, productive move to further enhance our brand and improve our offering to our clients. Traditionally we have been very poor at marketing our own services to all our existing clients and have subsequently missed some good opportunities to help them. This name change and rebrand will inspire us to communicate more effectively and regularly with our existing and new clients.

Who Are we? We are a Christian, family-run business. Print by Design started trading in 1995. It had it’s own in-house printing unit, but subsequently the realisation dawned that we could serve our customers far better by operating as print managers. As such, this activity has been successfully carried-out for the past ten years.

Since 2000, the business has been owned and run by the present management – see below. Our head office is located in Bodmin, Cornwall, and our clients are scattered throughout the UK & Ireland. Most business is conducted from the head office but we will meet with clients anywhere, as the need arises. Please let us demonstrate to you that in this era of PDF’s & other electronic files, our location really is no deterrent to successfully working with us!

Our aim is to run Printbridge in a distinctly friendly and personal manner, striving to attain the highest moral and ethical standards. We believe that we can combine these attributes with a level of professionalism rarely found today.

The directors & primary points of contact are:
Chris Wallis - 25 years experience in the paper making and print industries.
Pete Walters – Happily using none of the things he learnt as a Civil Engineer at University!
Their other halves – Jan Wallis & Amanda Walters – behind every good man is a better woman.
In our free time, we enjoy the lifestyle that Cornwall provides – although we sometimes struggle to actually find time to enjoy all it has to offer!

Business Philosophy
We aim to run our business in close harmony with biblical Christian principles. We rely heavily upon God’s provision and sustenance and thank Him for the steady, managed growth our business has enjoyed.

Environmental Policy
We take a well researched and practical approach to our business environment and practices. We take care to use as little resources as possible and buy eco-friendly products and supplies where practical to do so.

We do not agree with the media driven view that the paper industry is an environmentally damaging industry. Over 90% of all the trees felled for paper production within Europe are sourced from well managed Scandanavian forests, where 2 trees are planted for every single tree felled. You could easily agree that the Scandanavian Softwood forests are making a significant benefit to the environment!

We prefer using companies that are ISO-14001 compliant. One key print supplier in particular goes above and beyond with his environmental awareness by taking these additional steps:

• All paper sourced from well managed FSC accredited forests
• Vegetable based inks, purchased in environmentally friendly containers
• Low energy electric motors on all equipment
• Low energy lighting solutions
• Low wastage & high paper reuse.
